Guala Closures, established in 1954, is the world leader in non-refillable closures for spirits and the market leader in Europe, Latin America and Australasia in aluminium closures for wines. Product range also includes closures for soft drinks, edible oils and pharmaceuticals. Guala Closures is based in Alessandria, Italy, and is a multinational company covering traditional markets with continuous expansion in emerging markets. It operates 26 plants in 4 continents. In 2010, the Company reached a turnover of € 370 million, a 20% increase over 2009.

Plastivit is a Spanish competitor and a former licensee of Guala Closures, for non-refillable closures for spirits, with a factory in Spain and one in Mexico. 2010 sales were € 12 million.
